Just finished Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. It was incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever read a novel where the prose was as beautiful and complicated as the actual structure of the novel (itself intricate and an aid to the story).
If you’re in for some heady, genre-bending, story-within-a-story, part-sci-fi, part-historical-fiction, all commenting on human nature and civilization, definitely give it a read.
